How does it work and what is Down2Business (D2B)…

D2B is a Business Networking Club which was formed in 2003, and in a nutshell, functions as a very successful business referral generator. Every year the income generated from referrals increases. During the past year alone, almost £1/2million worth of business was passed between our members. Business referrals are passed every meeting, with an average of 60 being quite normal. An important point to note is that this is business generated and kept within the local Plymouth economy. In one meeting alone, a record breaking 104 'hot' business leads were passed!

This message has been heard loud and clear in the business community, with a membership of almost 50 local businesses and with a new member joining on average every month, we are increasingly becoming possibly the largest and most important non-profit making Business Networking Club in the South West! I say non-profit making because all generated funds are used for the good of club and its membership. Not one person receives any form of financial payment for the management of the Club.

Developments since conception have included launching our very own "D2B Bus". Through Citybus, we have purchased the advertising space of a complete double decker bus and fully wrapped it with every member's business advertisement. (See if you can spot it in and around Plymouth!). We have held a number of 'Grand Charity Summer Ball's' raising a considerable amount of money for our own 'D2B Sport4Plymouth Foundation'.  Another first saw the the launch of a 'Business Referral Incentive Scheme' for our members, with an initial prize being a two week holiday in a Villa in Turkey! We offer a £100 voucher to a lucky member every 3 months which is very well received, especially as it can be used for any number of occasions, such as a meal out, attending sports events or even the theatre. We also give-away a £50.00 voucher to a member each month to spend on another members services or products! In total, we give back £1,000 to our members each year. The rest of our money goes towards marketing our Club and member businesses, and of course a free slap up members only Christmas Lunch!

So...How much does this all cost our members? Absolutely nothing extra - all this and more is paid for from our very low annual membership fee!

Since we founded the Club, it has grown steadily and for some business categories, we actually have a waiting list to join! I believe that shows our very high standing in the business community.
